New York City Early Childhood Professional Development Institute

After spending some time researching early childhood education through the New York City Early Childhood Professional Development Institute I was pleased to find that PDI supports early childhood education through support of the professional. PDI works to develop a system that supports high-quality services that recruit talented, valuable educators. I did not find any particularly controversial topics in my research. Most corporations that support the educator support some type of pay scale, which PDI mentions on their website. They also produce an early childhood newsletter with short articles on current professional development opportunities. After looking around on PDI’s website I found a great list of professional organizations like the National Association for Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies, National Black Child Development Institute, and the National Child Care Association. They also have wonderful information on educational games and activities as well as continuing education for professionals.
