Center on the Developing Child by Harvard University Interesting Fact Review

After exploring the Center on the Developing Child by Harvard University I came to learn:
  1. That the center works to "build a unified science of health, learning, and behavior", "design, implement, and evaluate innovative programs and practices to help reduce disparities in well-being". For example, in Rwanda the Center on the Developing Child is developing and evaluating family-based strategies to prevent mental health problems in children affected by HIV/AIDS.
  2. That little information is available on early childhood education in sub-Saharan Africa. The Zambian Ministry of UNICEF, the University of Zambia, and the Center on the Developing Child are working together to promote an ongoing anti-malaria initiative with the children of Zambia.
  3. The Center on the Developing Child will work with scholars, policy makers, and civil society leaders to help build a science agenda in early childhood education for a Brazilian audience.
